Ongoing Projects
Bountiful Backpacks Program Support
We recruit volunteers and secure funds to enable the program to meet an increased need for weekend food bags at Tracey's Elementary School.
In addition, we organize to provide bags of food
on weekends when the regular program does not operate due to school schedules.
S.T.A.I.R. Reading Program Support
We help to connect interested volunteers with Start The Adventure In Reading (STAIR)
programs at Lothian Elementary School and
Tracey's Elementary School.
These programs are operated by STAIR-Annapolis.
STAIR-Annapolis is a nonprofit organization that pairs second graders reading below grade level with dedicated volunteer tutors for weekly one-on-one literacy support and relationship-building.
All are welcome, no experience necessary!
Public Transportation Advocacy
Transportation is challenging for many residents of South County. Limited or no transportation impacts residents' ability to find and keep employment, shop for essentials, participate in after-school activities, keep medical or dental appointments, and access services.

Spreading the word about the
South County Call N' Ride service is a priority for us.
We share information about this transportation option with residents, businesses, and service providers in South County.
Utilizing this free service, residents can connect to opportunities within South County and can also link to other public transportation routes to northern parts of Anne Arundel County.

Supplemental Food Resources Support
We work with churches and community organizations such as the SCAN Food Pantry and Produce Partners to support access to supplemental food.

To make the information accessible, we publish a calendar of food distribution events and a list of food resources each month. These are posted on our website, on our Facebook page and distributed to a wide network of partner organizations and individuals.

Community Outreach
At community events and through our weekly email, we provide South County residents with information about our projects and about available resources and services, including the Call N' Ride Service and supplemental food sources.
We interact with South County neighbors to gain their perspectives on
resources and services needed in their communities. Building on these
interactions, we develop projects or join with other organizations to bring attention to needs that have been identified.
