Past Projects
Pajama Day 2022
Thanks to generous donations from family, friends and the Lothian Ruritan Club, we were able to help 93 students at a local elementary school participate in Pajama Day 2022...
in style!
Food Pantry Sign-Up
We worked with members of the Board of SCAN
(the South County Assistance Network)
to help expand access to their food pantry.
By going to community centers on a Saturday morning, we were able to reach residents who might not be aware of the program. SCAN representatives signed-up eligible residents
and
Community Alliance of South County members provided information about the Call N'Ride service and other transportation options.
Little Free Pantries* Project
We promoted a South County-wide
initiative to install "Little Free Pantries"
in areas of need.
Our objective was to increase awareness
of food insecurity and insufficiency in our own neighborhoods
through a project that will bring food to where it is needed
and engage communities in in meeting neighbor's needs.

Little Free Pantries are to Food
as
Little Free Libraries are to Books
Art Opportunities for Youth
We worked with Creating Communities to bring
creative activities to children in South County - many of who live remotely and do not have access to transportation.
Sixty families with young children received bags filled with crayons, markers, doodle pads, Legos,
books and more...all generously provided by Creating Communities and distributed by our members.
And...
Four South County students attended an on-line Arts Institute offered by Creating Communities* as a virtual alternative to their popular summer Arts Camp in Annapolis.
Shoes for Students Project
We worked together with Cleaning Maid Easy
and Chesapeake Health and Fitness Club
to help keep good fitting shoes on kids in Anne Arundel's South County elementary schools.
Gently worn shoes were collected and given to
students in need
in South County elementary schools.
Wheelchair Ramp Build Project
In response for a request for assistance, we assembled a team to construct a wheelchair ramp for a South County resident.
